Languages Needed: Ukrainian

We are seeking Ukrainian Call Order-specific Quality Assurance (QA) Officers—one per language—responsible for post-editing, proofreading, validating, and maintaining content on the WorkwithUSAID.gov platform. QA Officers will work within USAID’s Translation Management System (TMS), Trados GroupShare, ensuring the quality of machine-translated content before publication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control for Deliverables: Ensure the final products delivered to USAID meet the required standards, including translation quality, formatting, desktop publishing quality, and 508 compliance if needed.
  • Post-edit and Proofread: Review machine-translated content, which utilizes AI and established translation memories, for post-editing, proofreading, and quality assurance.
  • Content Maintenance: Oversee the quality and relevance of language-specific content on the WorkwithUSAID.gov platform. This includes updating events, blogs, and other relevant materials to ensure they are timely and well-formatted.
  • Quality Assurance: Provide overall quality control for language content, including holistic style and formatting guidance, to ensure high-level language maintenance.
  • Translation Memory Maintenance: Clean and maintain USAID’s Translation Memory system. Tasks include removing duplicate entries, correcting errors, and ensuring efficient use of translation memories across teams.
  • Collaboration: Engage with the M/OAA Industry Liaison Content team (responsible for English content) and other QA Officers to ensure consistency and high-quality translation for the platform.
  • Support Additional Translation Needs: Assist in translation, post-editing, and proofreading of additional communication materials for the Industry Liaison team or other USAID documents as needed.

Requirements

  • Native or fluent proficiency in Ukrainian.
  • Experience with translation, post-editing, and proofreading, preferably in a technical or governmental context.
  • Proficient in Trados GroupShare or similar translation management systems.
  • Strong understanding of translation memory management, including maintenance, cleanup, and quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with formatting, style guidelines, and quality control processes.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of 508 compliance is a plus.
