  • Position Description

    XLA is looking for an Inventory Specialist to support our Law Enforcement Client in Arlington, VA. The Inventory Specialist will provide business support in areas to include inventory management and office management.

    The following responsibilities will be assigned:

    • Acquisition and financial management of capitalized and non-capitalized property, vehicles, portable electronic devices, and supplies
    • Analyze electronic and hard copy records for accuracy and completeness to include making sure data is entered in a consistent format and data integrity.
    • Analyze hard and soft copy financial, asset, and office supply records and data to identify trends, patterns and anomalies.
    • Assist with maintaining delivery status
    • Assist with scheduling and preparation of program activities.
    • Attend organizational meetings, working groups, and briefings.
    • Conduct office support functions such as answering the phone, distributing mail, maintaining calendars, data entry, document scanning and reserving and coordinating meetings and conference rooms.
    • Create and complete electronic forms in UFMS.
    • Create, correct, transfer, cancel, and disposition to property records or creating new property records based on PCA reconciliation of inventory results.
    • Develop spreadsheets, tracking tools and preparing reports and presentations using Microsoft Office products.
    • Initiating asset or betterment cancellations.
    • Performing customer service activities with DEA stakeholders.
    • Performing procedure review to confirm all required documentation is completed and submitted for equipment/property/supplies.
    • Receiving and inspecting equipment, affixing barcodes and generating inventory records.
    • Support and program management of financial data for movable property, vehicles, portable electronic devices, and supplies.
    • User access to the Agency financial and fixed asset systems for the effective management of financial and asset data
    • Provide Administrative and clerical support to warehouse supervisor and Unit Chief, Office Services Unit, DEA Mailroom, and DEA warehouse.
    • Initiate, review, proof and edit all documents, including all supply and equipment requisitions both government and commercial ensuring compliance with government and agency regulations. Verifying accuracy of all information and quotes submitted by various vendors. Monitor supply purchases from order to receipt.
    • Successfully performing other related administrative duties as assigned.


    • 2 years' experience and a Bachelor's Degree or 6 years' experience with a High School Diploma
    • Experience using financial and asset management programs
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to develop tracking sheets, reports and presentations
    • Experienced reviewing and analyzing tracking and inventory data for accuracy
    • Knowledgeable with facilitating the process to purchase and dispose of equipment and supplies
    • General office support functions such as mail distribution and answering the phone, data entry, and document scanning

    Clearance Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain Agency Suitability


    Travel Requirements: Position may be required to work out of HQ location occasionally for training or assistance when other administrative personnel are not available
