    XLA is seeking a Strategy and Research Specialist to support the anticipated U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Pakistan ‘Communications and Outreach Mechanism’ project. This would be a 5-year project based in Islamabad, Pakistan with the overarching goal of increasing Pakistanis’ awareness, perception, and understanding of the United States, its civilian assistance programs, and the benefits of these programs to communities and individuals across Pakistan. 


    The Strategy and Research Specialist would be based in Islamabad and his/her duties would include, but not be limited to:

    • Strategically planning mass media and outreach campaigns;
    • Using market research to make recommendations for how to best reach the target audiences;
    • Analyzing the target audience insights for crafting plans in collaboration with the creative team and developing guidelines to promote USAID's work across various channels.


    • Bachelor’s degree in research, mass communications, marketing, or a social science related technical field; Master’s degree preferred;
    • Five or more years of experience in an advertising agency or supporting marketing product development;
    • Must have extensive experience in conducting research and data analysis;
    • Prior experience working/living in a developing country environment; experience in Pakistan desired;
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment;
    • Fluency in English required; fluency in Udru and/or Punjabi desired.
